Thursday 13/9 - Sarraméa (La Foa).
Hiking "Le Plateau de Dogny" with Marine and Audrey.
Hard and very nice hiking tour in Sarraméa (La Foa). 140 + 220 + 100 minutes (ascent + loop on the plateau including picnic + descent).

The tree is a Cook Pine (Araucaria Columnaris), quite common over here.
Underway, the 'Trou Feillet', natural pools
which I already appreciated during my earlier visits.

Saturday 22/9 - Noumea.
Noumea is the capital of New Caledonia.
Beach Boulevard.
Kite surf.
The famous l'Eau Vive restaurant, held by nuns.
(I also visited them in Lima).

Unfortunately we were there for lunch, not for dinner,
as at 9:00PM the whole restaurant joins the nuns singing "Ave Maria".

Sunday 23/9 - Koumac's yearly Fair.
Koumac is is a village somewhat 200km north from Bourail.
The Fair Koumac is the meeting of the "authentic Caledonian bush". In the program: rodeos, horse racing, horse ball. It is also a craft fair and all of local production is on display: sculptures, basketwork and many others.

Thursday 27/9 - Sentier des trois Baies

Friday 5/10 - Leaving for the weekend to Poindimié (Camping).

The bus for Poindimié arrived with 50 minutes of delay in Bourail.
Oops... no alcohol, cigarets or cannabis in the bus.

Saturday 6/10 - Diving at Poindimié with Tieti Diving.
The same day we explored two different diving spots on the coral reef:
- "Twin Towers" (my 8th diving)
- "Val d'Isère" (9th diving).

18000km from Paris!
Parc entrance, 400FCFP/person fee (about 3€).
New Caledonia uses the "Franc Pacifique",
having a fixed exchange rate versus the Euro.

Cc, j'espère qu'avec une aussi belle planche tu vas t'essayer au surf!!!
ReplyDeleteHier j'ai eu (enfin) le troisième cours de kite surf. Je réussi maintenant à coup sure les water starts et ça glisse ensuite pour 5 à 10 secondes. Après: PLOUF, remonter l'aile, la positionner "à 12h", fixer les pieds dans les attaches sur la planche (pas évident en contrôlant le cerf-volant avec l'autre main!), laisser l'aile faire le mouvement "de 13h à 10h" ou de "11h à 14h", se lever sur la planche les épaules en avant et en appuyant sur les talons, .... et de nouveau PLOUF.
