Sunrise views onto Gunung Bromo.
These three volcanoes grew inside the caldera of a much larger volcano
(Gunung Penenjakan, 2770m), from whose lip this picure was made.
End of the sunrise...
On this picture, Gunung Bromo is the active volcano, nearest to me.
Where is Michel now?
Maybe 100 four wheel drive Toyotas awaiting the tourists (me included),
to bring them to the foot of Gunung Bromo.
"Climbing" the Gunung Bromo.
Our driver, on the road to the volcano,
confident in his "Repair Kit" (the little red box on his dashboard).
Now, the same cars, awaiting the tourists (me included),
after having dropped them for their climb to Gunung Bromo's caldera.
Indeed, I was not alone there.
Fleet of tourists ascending the Gunung Bromo.
The tourist fleet climbing the stairs.
Most of them reached the stairs from the car park by horse.
On the stairs, crossing two British girls earlier met in Jakarta.
The caldera of Gunung Bromo.
A fast descent of the tourists (me included),
even some panic, because of a blizard of gas and fine sand.
Most tourists then returning on their horse, and then by car.
Having "explored" the volcano, we take the road towards the Ijen Volcano (a 6 hours journey), hoping to get a wilder adventure there...
Beach along the road from Mt Bromo to Mt Ijen.
And a very tasty fish lunch.
